Who We Serve

Adults from Cabarrus and surrounding counties, whether they live alone or with family members. While at the Center, the participants are safe, supervised, interacting with others, participating in meaningful activities, and receiving health care services.
Participants include:

Older adults with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, Parkinson’s disease, heart disease, the effects from a stroke, vision or hearing impairments, loneliness and/or depression, and the need to be among friends their own age, and
Younger adults with developmental disabilities, mental health issues, accident-related disabilites, and other impairments.

What We Offer

Nutritious meals (breakfast, lunch, and snack with diabetic and other special dietary needs accommodated)
Monthly health screening by full-time staff nurse
Beauty and barber shop services
Exercise and rehabilitative therapy
Personal care: bathing, bathroom and incontinence assistance, nail care, and podiatry services

A Typical Day

7:30 - 9:15 a.m.	Participants arrive at the Center. Coffee Club meets.
9:15- 10 a.m.	Breakfast
10-10:30 a.m.	Morning Stretch and Devotional
10:30 a.m.	Morning Program/Activities*
12 noon	Lunch
1 p.m.	Rest and Relaxation/Walking Club
2 p.m.	Afternoon Program/Activities*
3 p.m.	Snack
3:45 p.m.	Vans Leave
4 – 6 p.m.	Group Activity

* Morning and afternoon activities include crafts, music, programs by special guests, field trips, exercise, games, trivia, cooking, parties, and much more!

Family Support

Monthly CARE (Concerned Adults Responsible for the Elderly) meetings for all caregivers are held the third Thursday of each month and cover a variety of topics related to the care of participants and themselves.

Transportation

Transportation is available to and from the Center each day and to doctor’s appointments to help prevent family members from missing work.
